Subtraction Action

This activity is a hands-on way for your student/s to practice subtraction within ten. You can play it in a number of ways!

Some ideas for play are to cut along the dotted vertical lines to create strips and then have students cut the corresponding subtrahend. Another idea for students who are already competent in their scissors skills is for students themselves to cut the strips to match the subtraction equation. Alternatively, you can place these in dry erase pockets and have students cross out the objects and write their answers.
